“Chase” Away Cancer
Sadly, cancer doesn’t prey only upon us humans, it also attacks our furry friends. There has been a lot of advances in veternarian science, but like the human form, cancer has no cure.
The DockDogs community lost one of their beloved, Chase, on June 28th, 2006. Chase, was an AKC Master Hunter, Elite Jumper in Dockdogs Big Air and NW Challenge Champion for 2005. She was a vital, strong dog who showed no outward signs of illness until Cera discovered a lump under her chin. After being referred to a Board-certified veterinary oncologist, the diagnosis was devastating: nasal carcinoma. Chase underwent chemotherapy and received the best care possible but it was too late.
Since the devestating loss of her best-friend, Cera Reusser has been inspired to do as much as she can to help battle this devastating disease and to support animal health studies that may one day lead to a cure for canine cancer and other life-threatening diseases. From selling hats, organizing local fundraising events, to getting the word out to breed clubs and the Dock jumping world, Cera has already raised thousands of dollars for the ACVIM Foundation’s animal health studies grant program.
Cera and the American College of Veternarian Medicine have partnered with a radio station in Oregon and will donate $.05 for every click they get on their website.
Click everyday and tell you friends to help “Chase” Away Cancer.
